New York City – the city that never sleeps has had an unfortunate time out this year.
But like a rambunctious toddler, they are ready to play again. No one is doing this high-spirited movement better than Cafe Fiorello.
The legendary hotspot that sits steps away from landmark Lincoln Center is continuing to shine in the spotlight as the world watches The Big Apple getting bright again.
Cafe Fiorello is an institution that theatergoers and neighborhood old-school types know equally for some of the best food in town. Traditional Italian with a modern twist is to be found on the menus that highlight breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
From the moment you walk into the properly sanitized and socially-distanced outdoor patio you feel like you are swept away to Europe. Warm Italian hospitality embraces you and washes away the madness surrounding us. You feel like it is just another beautiful night in the city as you are served by lovely staff. They pay attention to your every need and recommend dishes perfectly.
And they have a lot to recommend – elaborate vegetable and seafood antipasto, pastas, local fish, chops, and their famous signature thin-crust pizzas. You can basically have no wrong choice. Portions are massive. Be prepared to take home enough for lunch the next day and be so very pleased. As you sit on the gorgeous patio and look around you notice that guests are simply happy. Happy with the service. Happy with the food and drinks. And just happy to be out and feeling safe in such a wonderful establishment as Cafe Fiorello.
Highlights on the menu include a new starter. Shelly discovered the Italian Onion Soup in Tuscany last year with his Executive Chef, Brando De Oliveira. It is frankly the best soup you will ever have! A lot of folks will go for their amazing Lasagna. It is uniquely flipped inside and out. Tucked inside is warm, cheesy love.
The Pesto Avocado Pizza is scrumptious with beautiful tang and crispiness. And, then a special off-menu item that will truly bring excitement to your table is their Chicken Pepperoni Pizza topped with a pound of lobster ($78). The crust is a great twist and made out of chicken breasts. Lincoln Center might be shut down at the moment, but you will still hear plenty of singing here when you take one bite of this.
Shelly Fireman is the terrific owner who should be given the key to the city for making this all happen. He is lovable and in addition, his Fireman Hospitality Group just reopened two other midtown restaurants, Redeye Grill and Brooklyn Diner 57th Street. It is the stuff we need right now – good food and good people. So, do yourself a favor. Be a real New Yorker. Bring some light back to your life you love so much in this grand old city and check out Cafe Fiorello today.
