Singer, Faith Evans kicked off the BET Awards weekend with a star-studded after party to celebrate the hip hop legend that is Biggie Smalls and the release of her album, The King & I.

Many guests of the party arrived after attending the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards in which Notorious B.I.G was honored with the esteemed ASCAP Founders Award upon the 20th Anniversary of his untimely death.

The celebration, held at Soul Hollywood located in Hollywood, CA was intimate and inviting. The dimly lit room and soft tunes created a warm ambiance. Guests mingled and sipped on drinks as well as indulged in tasty hors d’oeuvres. As the night progressed DJ Abdul Shakir and Beat Ventriloquists played all your favorite Biggie hits and had us all jamming out to hit Bad Boy records from back in the day.

Close friends and family such as Lil Kim, Nicci Gilbert, Affion Crockett, Eva Marcille and many more came out to support the release of Faith Evan’s collaborative album, The King & I also known as #TKAI. The duet album tells the story about the life that Faith shared with Biggie: from getting married only nine days after meeting, to coping with his shocking death in 1997, Faith opens up on their story. The King & I features top artists such as Busta Rhymes, 112, Lil’ Cease, Lil’ Kim, The L.O.X., Snoop Dogg and more. Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace, also makes appearances on 3 tracks. Faith explained that she was inspired by Natalie Cole’s Unforgettable… With Love album over fifteen years ago.  Composed with rare and unheard verses from Big Poppa, producers such as DJ Premier, Just Blaze, Salaam Remi, Stevie J, and Chucky Thompson helped Faith blend her smooth vocals with the strong voice of the hip-hop phenomenon. The new project has material for both general rap fans and die-hard supporters of the late Christopher Wallace. The album is available now in stores and online.
