We are approaching a new season and bravely taking steps on new pathway into 2021. While much of the world is forever changed, there are some things that will always be classically desired. That is especially true when it comes to seeking advice on how to look good.
Leading the journey is beauty guru Robyn Newmark. The founder of NewMark Beauty is a successful expert and practitioner in the field, as well as a renowned educator. With 20 years of experience, she is on the go-to list for hundreds of clients and students. What makes her a visionary leader is her deep understanding that beauty needs to be seen as layers that get revealed from the inside out. We sat with Robyn for an intimate talk on her business and her incredible educational platform.
The Knockturnal: It is always a pleasure to talk to you. You have this amazing smile that warms the heart. Is that what a guru most have on a daily basis?
Robyn Newmark: Well, a guru is really about bringing the best out in people. I inspire others in many different ways by being my truthful self.
The Knockturnal: What a fantastic way to put it! How do you even begin to approach the world of beauty in such a positive way?
Robyn Newmark: My approach to beauty is from the inside out. The first thing you have to decide when you’re making any choice about beauty – or anything else for that matter – is the number one thing is that it has to be healthy and to be safe. And then go from there. It’s pointless to style yourself in such a way that’s not healthy and not safe. From there you have to make sure you are representing someone authentically.
The Knockturnal: Your career is fascinating because you have your own clients you practice on and you also teach. Describe how it is to work in an individual session first.
Robyn Newmark: It’s really about bringing out the best in that person, and at the same time teaching them some principles about beauty and self-care. You want them to leave you and go home and do it right when they are alone. It’s not just about them constantly coming into my treatment room and needing me to fix something. This is also about some of the self-care practices.
The Knockturnal: That is why clients rave about your work. You are top in your field because it’s not just about you booking appointments. You treat an individual like a student under your wings.
Robyn Newmark: I started out doing make-up for friends at my prom. From there my skills grew. It was because I started from a young age actually caring about the process of beauty and how it makes people feel.
The Knockturnal: And, that is exactly why you are also a perfect teacher. Tell us about some of your guru enlightenment on your educational platforms.
Robyn Newmark: I have my own aesthetics academy where I train other professionals in cosmetic tattooing, micro-channeling and eyelash extensions. Newmark Beauty also has launched the newest technology for hair removal and exosome regenerative therapies. We also supply to aesthetic and medical professionals nationwide.
The Knockturnal: That is remarkable and you are a non-stop machine at work.
Robyn Newmark: From my online courses on Zoom to consultations I always have to be top of my game. I really do care about what I do.
The Knockturnal: That is true passion. What are some of the courses you teach online?
Robyn Newmark: We have been on the forefront of education. Even before the pandemic my company was teaching essential classes online. In the next three months I would like to do much more with the online community. I will be adding a lot more classes on hair removal and micro channeling, as well as on hair rejuvenation. That is the future of beauty, so along with that I will focus on business coaching tools. The pandemic cannot slow you down when it comes to achieving your goals.
The Knockturnal: So truly much of what you teach is what you practice.
Robyn Newmark: Yes, you can book appointments with my Southern California offices with me to do permanent makeup, eyelash extension, epilfree hair removal, teeth whitening, makeup artistry, and also Procell Therapies.
The Knockturnal: You truly do have a passion. Even when you are not at work you are spending your time volunteering to help others in need. Finding beauty in all humans is spread so far with you, such as your recent online volunteer session with Bottomless Closet.
Robyn Newmark: The New York-based organization does tremendous work to help women in need enter the workforce. For them to achieve success they need a boost of confidence. Beauty tips and support can truly be life-changing for them. It touches my heart that I can do that. It doesn’t take much. It just takes an understanding that once again beauty is something that can be taught. When this principle is embraced it really creates happiness.
