Sharone Sayegh plays the character Bonnie and others in The Tony & Olivier Award-winning Broadway Musical Come From Away.
Come From Away is based on an actual event that took place during one of America’s deadliest tragedies. On September 11, 2001, the world stopped as people everywhere witnessed the attacks and the aftermath. The musical tells the story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. As tensions and nerves ran high, they were embraced with kindness and support. Come From Away tells the stories of some of the passengers and the residents of the Newfoundland town of Gander through music and the talented cast selected to portray them.
Sayegh recently joined the Broadway company of Come From Away after playing the role of Bonnie and others on the national tour. She spoke with the Knockturnal about the transition and what she hopes viewers will take away from the musical. Come From Away is the longest-running show in the 105-year history of the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. The musical will play its final Broadway performance on October 2, 2022, at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in Manhattan. After the company’s final broadway performance, it will be the 49th longest-running production in Broadway history and the most successful Canadian musical of all time.
