Tomlin born in Romania during its Revolution and was quickly adopted into the US, growing up in Massachusetts and later attending college in New York at SUNY Purchase is a screenwriter/director, best known for his original screenplay of the upcoming Netflix film “Project Power.” The blockbuster, which he wrote at the age of 27, stars Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
The story is about a pill that gives its users unpredictable superpowers for five minutes and when it hits the streets of New Orleans, a teenage dealer and a local cop must team with an ex-soldier to take down the group responsible for its creation. Tomlin’s script, full of insight and power, illustrates the world he created for the film, one that can only be explored in a long-form format to afford it’s kind of depth and detail. Securing a streaming giant to be the home for it elevates the film and solidifies Tomlin’s work.
Additionally, he scripted and produced the upcoming film Little Fish starring Olivia Cooke and has gained attention for being brought on board to co-write The Batman with Matt Reeves; the reboot will star Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, and Jeffrey Wright among others. He has a few projects in the works with Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg, including a television pilot for an adaption of the comic book series Fear Agent, and a film adaption of the comic book series Memetic for Lionsgate. He is also writing a film adaption of the video game character Mega Man for 20th Century Studios and sold a spec script, titled 2084, to Paramount Pictures.
Tomlin certainly is a filmmaker to watch. He already has his foot in the door in Hollywood and is about to make his presence known.
