Find out what Michael Epps from The Chi had to say in our exclusive interview.
At only 15 years old, actor Michael Epps has captured our hearts as Jake on Lena Waithe’s successful television series, ‘The Chi.’ ‘The Chi’ focuses on the trials and tribulations of families living in Chicago. Michael Epps’ character Jake is one of the younger actors on the show and portrays the realities of having family members involved in gang violence. The newest season of ‘The Chi’ kicks off by tackling police brutality with Jake being the victim. With such serious subject matter and great acting, it’s no surprise that Epps has been nominated for a 2021 BET YoungStars Award.
Before appearing on ‘The Chi,’ Epps had a guest appearance on another successful show, ‘Empire.’ After a year of working hard and going to auditions, Epps landed ‘The Chi’ audition and the rest is history.
