Actress Lauren E. Banks is starring in Showtime’s “City on a Hill.” Banks is best known as a racial equality activist which has helped her play the role of Siobhan Quays in the Showtime series.

In Season 2 of “City on a Hill” the federal housing project in Boston is experiencing drug violence, racial discrimination, and distrust in local law enforcement. Actress Lauren E. Banks sees the parallel between our country experiencing civil unrest and playing a private attorney. She was honored to have this role and loved working alongside Aldis Hodge and Kevin Bacon. Banks earned the role right after she graduated from Yale School of Drama in 2017. Banks expressed the need for justice and how minorities should freely tell their stories of suffering, racial injustice, and inequality.

The character Banks plays (Siobhan Quays) is dominant, witty, and her voice will not be silenced in the workplace. Banks sheds light on how minorities and in particular, women are treated at work. Banks expressed how she enjoys waking up at 4:30 am to go to work and all people should love what they do. Furthermore, Lauren loves the HBCU experience, expressing the importance of womanhood and using your voice to bring about change in the world.
