Little America hits home with viewers by the inspiring true stories featured in Epic Magazine.
The new hit show featured on AppleTV+ is not your average show based on immigrants- it’s actually not political at all, according to executive producer Alan Yang. The show was created to go beyond the typical headlines you see on a daily basis about immigrants in the United States. Instead, it’s filled with funny, heartwarming, inspiring and, most of all, surprising stories showcasing the immigrant stories that are relevant now more than ever before.
Little America is an anthology show that consists of eight episodes in season one. Each episode is unique in its own way with stories about immigrants from Mexico, Nigeria, and even Iran. Six-time Emmy nominee from the hit show The Office, Lee Eisenberg, is the showrunner, executive producer and writer along with Oscar-nominated writer and comedian Kumail Nanjiani alongside wife Emily V. Gordon. Both Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon are best known from the hit movie, The Big Sick, which gardened them many award nominations and other television opportunities.
What makes this show unique is that each episode is directed and written by different creatives. Aside from the directors and writers, many of the actors from the various countries offered their support in order to make each specific episode more authentic and honest with its viewers. Absolutely no detail went unnoticed and that was clearly evident in each episode throughout season one. However, fans do not have to worry because season two has already been approved and will include immigrant stories from the past- centuries-old, according to Kumail Nanjiani.
