Katie Holmes directed, produced, and is starring in the new film “Alone Together!”
The Knockturnal was honored to speak with actors Katie Holmes and Jim Sturgess to discuss their new film “Alone Together.”
The film tells the story of food critic June (Katie Holmes), who travels to upstate New York to escape COVID-19 quarantine in the city. She accidentally double-books an Air BnB for her and her boyfriend, but shortly finds out that her boyfriend John (Derek Luke) will not be able to make it. Upon arrival upstate, June is forced to cohabitate with newly-single stranger Charlie (Jim Sturgess), and as the pandemic restrictions strengthen, the two are practically stranded together.
The movie unfolds as June and Charlie end up developing a close relationship, discussing their thoughts on love, life, and the future.
The film is a cinematic masterpiece, Holmes and Sturgess do a wonderful job portraying the struggles that came with the initial lockdown in 2020, while also telling a light-hearted story about two individuals stuck in a sticky situation.
“Alone Together” submerses you in a not-too-distant past, that is weirdly extremely exciting to relive.
