On June 11, 2021 Apple+ will premiere their second season of hit show Home Before Dark. The show is based on the life of child journalist Hilde Lysiak. The real-life Hilde and the character inspired by her are wise beyond years and have a need to explore and showcase the truth.
The show takes place in a small lakeside town when a Brooklyn family moves back to their father’s hometown only to find it is filled with an abandoned past and secrets. With Home Before Dark premiering its second season, fans of the show will get to see the character development for the Lisko family and their interactions within their small town.
Show creator Dana Fox was able to mold her passion for crime podcasts and television writing to create the mystery drama that is Home Before Dark. The show is able to cater to a diversity of age groups and interests. The show has successfully brought together its viewers through their interest in the life of character Hilde Lisko.
Lisko and Lysiak have many similarities. Actress Brooklynn Prince intentionally weaves together aspects of Lysaik’s personality into her portrayal of Hilde. With Prince and Lysiak meeting, it gave her insight into the psyche, rhythm, mannerisms, and characteristics of the character she would be portraying.
For actor Jim Sturgess, his portrayal of Matthew Lisko has been a learning experience for him. Through his portrayal of Matt he has been able to learn about the challenges and nuances within fatherhood.
Home Before Dark’s second season will be building upon the storylines from the previous season and showing the growth of its characters and the world around them.
