Singing and dancing since age six, acting since eight, Emily Tosta is now bringing us, Lucia Acosta, with the “Party of Five.”

Current, entertaining, with humor and real-life dilemmas from the Southern border, Tosta is a growing force. Coming from Mayans M.C., Tosta’s star quality shines brightly in this current and very timely 90s reboot series. Airing on FreeForm, this will be the show to truly cement Emily Tosta as a Hollywood leading lady. Here she is in her own words.

The Knockturnal: What upcoming projects do you have?

Emily Tosta: My other show Mayans M.C. got picked up for season 3 so that’s super exciting! I’m leaving to Atlanta soon to be the female lead in a new film with Nicolas Cage! And hopefully, Party Of Five gets a second season 😉

The Knockturnal: What is it like now that the show is out?

Emily Tosta: There’s been a great response. It’s been so incredible! Hearing the audience’s response, seeing how the message of our show is touching people’s hearts, being able to bring the truth of this story onto people’s screens has been such a blessing. So excited for the rest of the season!

The Knockturnal: Tell me what the show is about and explain your character to me.

Emily Tosta: Party Of Five is about 5 siblings trying to raise themselves and maneuver through daily obstacles after their parents get deported to Mexico. My character Lucia Acosta is a straight-A student, very determined, that loses herself a little bit after this family chaos, but is slowly trying to find a way in which to release her anger and negative emotions. She starts becoming involved with activism and develops a strong voice for herself.

The Knockturnal: What are your co-stars like? Any funny on-set stories?

Emily Tosta: They’re the best. Every single day on set with them is an absolute dream. They have become my real-life siblings. I go to them for advice. I know they’re always there for me in both the good times and the bad times.

The Knockturnal: What is the best part of being so public now on a big show?

Emily Tosta: I think my favorite part is being able to have a voice and an audience to spread awareness for things that I believe in and feel passionate about.

The Knockturnal: Where can we see the arc of the show going? Will there be a second season?

Emily Tosta: You will be able to see a lot of growth from our characters. You will dive more into struggles of identity, sexuality, love, relationships, dreams, likes, dislikes, activism, immigration and more. We are all hoping for a second season! We shall see 😉

The Knockturnal: Favorite parts of making this show?

Emily Tosta: Showing up to set every day and having the blessing of working with such lovely people.

The Knockturnal: What would you say is the message of the show? And what does it mean to you, personally?

Emily Tosta: Party Of Five is a show about the force that is a strong family unit. We want to deliver a message of love and strength, that families cannot be broken by borders.

The Knockturnal: You have great style! Who and what are some of your fashion inspirations?

Emily Tosta: Thank you! I love fashion, I use it as a way to express myself. I wouldn’t say I have someone in specific, but I do love scrolling through INSTAGRAM and saving images of things I think would look cool or fit my style 🙂
