The Knockturnal was on the scene for the world premiere of HBO Max’s “Gossip Girl,” last week at the very hip Spring Studios. A massive red carpet with a peach and pink backdrop lined Varick Street and the cast came to slay!
The epic bash marked HBO’s first IRL event in New York since the pandemic began. All precautions were taken to ensure safety. Guests were concierge COVID tested and masked up during the screening and carpet.
This new Gossip Girl isn’t a spinoff or a reboot, but rather a continuation according to the show’s creators. It picks up eight years after the original Gossip Girl blog went dark and follows a new generation of privileged New Yorkers. This time Gossip Girl reports on the latest happenings from an anonymous Instagram account.
It was exciting to see the pilot with the show’s cast and crew. They cheered throughout the screening. After the screening, guests headed to the roof of Spring Studios for Joe’s Pizza, JG Melon burgers, photo booth fun, and many other delicious treats. After it began to rain, the party headed indoors to one of Spring’s cool bar/lounge spaces. For dessert, attendees enjoyed Sant Ambroeus gelato, of course!
Cast and creatives in attendance included Thomas Doherty, Megan Ferguson, Zion Moreno, Josh Schwartz (creator), Stephanie Savage (creator), Jordan Alexander, Whitney Peak, Savannah Smith, Emily Alyn Lind, Tavi Gevinson, Joshua Safran (EP), Adam Chanler-Berat, Laura Benanti, Eli Brown, Evan Mock, Rana Roy, Todd Almond, Jonathan Fernandez, Donna Murphy, Lyne Renée, Jason Gotay, Karena Evans (director) and Eric Daman (costume designer).
Other celebs we spotted included: designer Christopher John Rogers, Natalie Alyn Lind, Christian Siriano, Kristine Froseth, Kathryn Gallagher, Jessica Wang, Emma Kenney, Sarah Jeffrey, Jenny Cipoletti, Dree Hemingway, Deon Hinton and Parker Kit Hill, Mandy Ansari, and Eileen Kelly.
