Cipriani Wall Street in New York City transformed into a late 18th century masquerade ball to host the world premiere of ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ on October 26.
The show is a period drama that acts as a prelude to Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ classic 18th century novel, telling the story of iconic characters — the Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont — and how they met in Paris on the eve of the revolution.
Dangerous Liaisons takes audiences through a world of wonder and terror, beauty and degradation, seduction and deception, and so much more in pre-revolutionary Paris. The show stars Alice Englert, Nicholas Denton, Kosar Ali, Carice van Houten, Michael McElhatton, Colette Dalal Tchantcho, Nathanael Saleh and Paloma Faith.
The cast celebrated the show’s dazzling premiere alongside series creator Harriet Warner and Executive Producer Sir Colin Callender. The event was complete with an exciting red carpet, spectacular screening of the first episode of the show, and delicious foods. Following the screening, the space transformed into an after-party ball, complete with live music performed by the Philadelphia String Quartet and dancers dressed in 18th century attire.
The Knockturnal got the chance to speak with the show’s incredibly talented cast and crew to talk all things Dangerous Liaisons.
Watch Dangerous Liaisons on STARZ starting November 6. New episodes premiere every Sunday.
