In the spirit of New York’s Fashion Week, ESSENCE Magazine held it’s 3rd annual Street Style Block Party under the Manhattan Bridge archway in DUMBO, Brooklyn this past Saturday.
During the event, which brings on of the brand’s most popular editorial franchises to life, ESSENCE presented uts 2016 Street Style Award to the hottest bloggers, designers, fashion stylists and trendsetters including Kelly Rowland, Zendaya, celeb stylist Law Roach, dancer/actress Khadija Shari, fashion blogger Blake Von D and designer Romeo Hunte.
Throughout the outdoor extravaganza there was a performance by singer Ayo Jay; live fashion show co-hosted by actress Naturi Naughton. The event included a kids’ crafting station as well as amazing eats from Big D’s Grub Truck and A Place 2 Go: On the Go, a Caribbean American fusion spot. The event was sponsored by Chevrolet and SheaMoisture hair care products where festival guests were given free hair styling consultations and chair massages and products. The event was a mix of music, fashion, art and culture and fun!
