Exclusive: Cast and Crew of ‘Animaniacs’ Talk The Second Season [Video]

by Julian Cannon November 5, 2021
written by Julian Cannon

Tom Ruegger created Animaniacs for Fox Kids block in 1993 and moved it to The WB in 1995 until its cancellation in 1998 as part of its Kids’ WB afternoon programming block. In association with Warner Bros. Animation, it is Steven Spielberg’s second animated series produced by his company, Amblin Entertainment. Originally, it had 99 episodes and a feature film titled Wakko’s Wish. There is a large cast of characters on Animaniacs, which is a variety show

The first season of the Animaniacs relaunch streamed on Hulu in 2020. In that same year, it got picked up for a second season. Ahead of the season two premiere of Animaniacs, The show got green-lit for a third season!

Animaniacs on Hulu provided Knockturnal with an opportunity to interact with the cast and crew. Cast members of Animaniacs, which stars gene-spliced lab mice and Warners of whatever kind, help bring the series’ cast to life.

Voice actors Gabe Swarr (Co-Executive Producer), Tress MacNeille (“Dot Warner”), Jess Harnell (“Wakko Warner”), Rob Paulsen (“Yakko Warner” & “Pinky”) & Maurice LaMarche (“The Brain”)  spoke with us about the enduring legacy of their famous roles.

As the series has just been renewed for a third season, they discuss their excitement about returning to these characters.

Exclusive: ‘The Walking Dead World Beyond’ Cast Talk Season 2 [Video]

by Julian Cannon November 5, 2021
written by Julian Cannon

AMC premiered the second season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond on October 3. Season 2 of World Beyond will serve as the series’ final season, which has always been the setup.

A lot of fans of the franchise have mixed reviews for World Beyond’s first season. The flagship series is always compared, but this series is very different from the flagship series. A group of young people discovering life in the aftermath of the apocalypse is the subject of this series. Moreover, they are not in the thick of things, but rather hidden away and protected by walls. After finally venturing out, they are unprepared for what they find.

It has been several months since The Walking Dead: World Beyond’s season 1 finale, but in the show’s timeline it has been as short as a few minutes. In comparison to other series, the cast of World Beyond hasn’t had the opportunity to “grow” in the traditional sense, although the revelations from the end of Season 1 have impacted them in many ways.

In addition to filling in the gaps of what’s happening in other parts of the Walking Dead universe, The Walking Dead: World Beyond was developed as a two-season limited series. With their helicopters and their clandestine missions, Civic Republic (CR) and Civic Republic Military (CRM) have been in focus in this spinoff.

I caught up with cast members Joe Holt, Natalie Gold, Nico Tortorella, Jelani Aladin, and Alexa Mansour as we talked about the second season. With the second season coming to a close soon, everyone is wondering how this will tie in with the unannounced Rick Grimes Movies!

Exclusive: Anna Kendrick, William Jackson Harper & More Talk ‘Season 2’ of HBO Max’s ‘Love Life’ [Video]

by Nathan Rousseau Smith November 5, 2021
written by Nathan Rousseau Smith

As the cast of the HBO Max Original Love Live descended onto the red carpet of the DGA Theater in New York City to celebrate the release of season 2, the excitement was clear. Smiling faces and camera flashes were a welcome return to normalcy as part of the Tribeca Fall Preview. Of course, the Knockturnal was there to cover it all! If you missed season one, starring Anna Kendrick, don’t worry. Season two is in the same universe, but a completely different storyline starring Emmy nominee and executive producer William Jackson Harper.

Harper plays Marcus Watkins, a man working in publishing whose marriage unexpectedly implodes. Marcus is forced to rebuild his life brick by brick, hoping to find a love that will last. The season leans into the mess of what dating is really like, the good, the bad, and the ugly. It even explores issues of race and dating interracially. On that issue Williams says, “We did think it was very important to be as authentic as possible, but also Marcus is just Marcus and what really comes through in the first episode is the pressure that black people are under just by existing. He wants to do well at his job, he has these ideas, so we throw a lot of Marcus in the first episode because it’s really showing what it’s like to be a black professional. We wanted to do it in a nuanced way.”

On the red carpet, Harper was joined by his co-stars Jessica Williams, Punkie Johnson and Chris “Comedian CP” Powell. Anna Kendrick also made a surprise appearance as well as Janet Hubert, Arian Moayed, and John Earl Jelks. Showrunners Sam Boyd, Bridget Bedard, and Rachelle Williams also joined in the celebrations alongside the legend, Executive Producer Paul Feig.

The 10 episode season is now streaming on HBO Max.

Exclusive: Go Inside Dorinda Medley’s Blue Stone Manner [Video]

by Jillian Fabiano November 1, 2021
written by Jillian Fabiano

Trick or treat yo’self to these Amazon goodies!

Real Housewives of New York alum, Dorinda Medley, is known for going big around the holidays, and Halloween is certainly no exception. Every year, Dorinda hosts a big Halloween dinner at her iconic Blue Stone Manner in the Berkshires. We guess you could say she is the hallow-queen. (Sorry, we had to.)

This year, Dorinda teamed up with Amazon to turn the Manner into a “Haunted Smart Mansion” for the festivities. The Dracula themed party, with an invitation that read, “dress like you’re going to Transylvania,” had Amazon finds that were a “game changer,” according to Dorinda.

From a screaming Ring doorbell, to Amazon Smart Plugs that allow Alexa to turn on decorations, Dorinda gave trick-or-treaters pumpkin to talk about.

A post shared by Dorinda Medley (@dorindamedley)

Dorinda, who dressed up as Dracula’s girlfriend this year, says that she decorates her home, built in 1902, with items from her grandmother, her mother and from Amazon. And while decorating the inside of your home is important, Dorinda says that “decorating starts in the entryway.”

“It’s the first impression,” said Medley. “Its where you greet trick-or-treaters, so consider how you’re setting the tone.”

A post shared by Dorinda Medley (@dorindamedley)

Not only does decorating make Dorinda’s home spooky and festive, she loves to do it. “Decorating is just in my soul. I just think it’s a great way to welcome people, to make people feel good.” Well, it’s certainly making us feel good!

And apparently the gift of decorating runs in Dorinda’s family. “I come from a decorating family,” Dorinda told the Knockturnal. “If you went to my parents house right now, and they’re in their late eighties, you would think they have young children.”

I don’t know about you guys, but we’re hoping we’re on next years invite list!

Check out some images from Dorinda’s dinner party below and Amazon’s website for ways to transform your home for the holidays.

Exclusive: The Fifth and Final Season of Insecure Kicks Off with a Party on a Mountaintop [Video]

by Jonathan Tolliver October 26, 2021
written by Jonathan Tolliver

It’s the Five-nal countdown! Insecure’s fifth and final season is airing on HBO, and the cast and creators celebrated with a jumpin party in legendary Kenneth Hahn park.

It was an emotional night, but only a little. Because for the most part we were all there to enjoy this wonderful universe Issa Rae created, and to eat tray after tray of shrimp and grits. Like a medically unadvisable amount.

The carpet was glamorous as hell, the shows’ stars absolutely flexing on the jeans-and-jacket media. It was a couture affair, babe, and I lived for it.

Issa and executive producer Prentice Penny introduced a pair of episodes that were as funny and fantastic as any the show has produced. On each of our seats was a lil ‘Insecure’ tote and blanket, which came in handy on this brisk night.

The post-screening party was so freaking incredible. We danced for hours on top of a mountain, enjoying food and custom cocktails. The cast was fuggin it up to the djs buoyant and brilliant soundtrack, as we all marveled and practiced our collective stanky leg.

I made something like 47 friends at this function, and posed for professional photos with a backdrop, and then blurry photos in the bathroom smiling at my goofy lil face.

The art direction and design of the space was breathtaking and very nostalgic, with key moments from the series blown up and framed. I realized I’d grown so much in my time watching the show, mirroring the emotional growth of the characters. What a special night, what a special show.
