Multi-award winning television host, producer, writer, actress and entertainment powerhouse Ellen DeGeneres brings her hilarious, high-energy comedy to primetime for season 3 of her highly successful show, Ellen’s Game of Games.
Confusing Mazes, runaway brides, and lots and lots of Slime. These are a few things you can expect to see on season 3 of Ellen’s Game of Games, premiering in Winter 2020. The NBC show has had two successful seasons since its air date back in 2017, and producers are claiming that this upcoming season will be even bigger and better than previous seasons.
We actually visited the Warner Brothers Studios back in June for the filming of their first episode of the new “Game of Games” season. We arrived to the set around 10am and the energy was completely contagious. Everyone from the producers to the camera guys were just as hilarious and friendly as you would expect from someone who worked on the set of a quirky game show. Soon after arriving, we had the opportunity to try out one of the new games from season 3, Mazed and Confused! The game closely resembled a carnival funhouse, as there were mirror everywhere! Contestants would start at the entrance of the maze and would have 60 seconds to find their way to the end of the maze. Sounds easy right?! Wrong! The maze is also filled with surprise fog machines and confetti canons that are sure to freak you out when you are least expecting it. As if finding your way through a maze of mirrors wasn’t easy enough! After spending way more than 60 seconds in the maze, I eventually made it out (as shown in the video below).
Right before they kicked off the taping of the third season, we were able to chat with the show’s announcer Stephen “Twitch” Boss about what to expect from the new season. Twitch has been with Ellen since 2012 when he first started as a guest DJ/Host on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. One thing that Twitch continued to emphasize during our chat was the joy he felt when on the set of “Game of Games”. He compared “Game of Games” to the “Ellen DeGeneres Show”, explaining that “It’s still that same good feeling, still the same joy, and still the same kindness that we get from the talk show but it’s just elevated because it takes us back to our childhood. Who’s the fastest? Who’s the smartest? Who jumps the highest? And who’s gonna fall and bust their face?!”. Shortly after we sat down and talked with David Westervelt, executive producer on the “Game of Games” show. Westervelt was quick to inform us that this season would be nothing short of awesome, comparing this season as “bigger and better” than before. He also informed us that this season would carry a couple extra episodes along with five new and extravagant games! Westervelt also shared his excitement about filming on Warner Brothers “biggest stage on the lot” for season 3. This is actually a really famous stage, and movies such as Jurassic Park have been filmed here. Show hosts also informed us that there is also a huge pool of water located underneath the floor in stage 16 which is used for water scenes on movie sets.
Season 3 of Ellen’s Game of Games comes out on January 7, 2020 and you definitely won’t want to miss it!
