Racers, start your engines! DragCon 2024 took off in Los Angeles with a sickening after-party that left fans gagging! Celebrating Drag Race royalty – the queens of Season 16 gave us a night of unforgettable performances!

DragCon, now in its 8th year, is a love letter to all things drag. From July 18 to 20, the Los Angeles Convention Center transforms into a vibrant hub for drag enthusiasts. This year promises dazzling vendor booths, sickening lip-sync battles, and the WOWIE Awards by World of Wonder.

But before the weekend officially began, the queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16 took center stage, each showcasing their unique talents. The energy was electric as these queens blew the roof off with solo performances that ranged from show-stopping lip-syncs to powerhouse vocals.

The night kicked off with the bright and yellow Nymphia Wind, who slayed with her iconic yellow wig and fierce dance moves. Following Wind, Geneva Karr sashayed onto the stage with a dramatic Rihanna medley as well that had everyone singing and twirling!

But the night truly burst into laughter with Megami‘s performance. Armed with her own comedic flair, she lip-synced from songs ranging to Ariana Grande’s “Into You” and Mariah Carey’s “Emotions,” peppering the act with hilarious pop-culture references from Drag Race and beyond. She even incorporated her iconic Season 16 hand puppet eyes and lalaparuza skills!

The energy was high with Hershii LiqCour-Jeté and Dawn, who showcased their incredible dance skills, leaving the crowd craving chocolate and ready to party up till dusk!

Mhi’ya Iman Le’Paige, the queen of flips, then took the stage, delivering mind-blowing flips and iconic ru-veals of new outfits that kept the audience on the edge of their seats. (She even flipped OFF THE STAGE!)

Following the high-energy performance, Q offered a freaky and colorful show, while Amanda Tori Meating served pure diva realness. Xunami Muse then took the stage, shrouded in black, leaving the audience speechless with her powerful Beyonce lip-sync medley.

The evening culminated with a bang! Morphine Love Dion painted the stage pink with ethereal Plane Jane later teased the audience with a red bob, culminating in a dramatic wig reveal that left everyone gagging.

Queens Plasma and Sapphira Cristál then took the stage, mesmerizing the audience with live vocals. Plasma brought the house down with a powerful rendition of “Don’t Rain On My Parade” from Funny Girl, while Sapphira premiered her brand-new song, “ENOUGH,” leaving the crowd wanting more.

Finally, Mirage delivered the ultimate mic drop. She slayed the house with her ru-deption performance to her eliminated lip-sync song “Dark Lady,” followed by her hit single “She’s Such a B*tch.” This fierce performance left the audience gagged and cheering for more, sending them off into the night with an unforgettable memory.

This after-party was a testament to the vibrant personalities of the Season 16 queens. It set the stage for an unforgettable DragCon weekend, packed with more iconic performances and opportunities to connect with the drag community!
