In an Instagram post, the global pop star shared her heartfelt decision to release the film on World AIDS Day, dedicated to the memory of Beyonce’s late Uncle Johnny.
The performances within the film weren’t solely dedicated to her late Uncle Johnny; they also celebrated the contributions of queer Black artists spanning decades.
The Renaissance record truly artfully weaved various themes deeply rooted in queer culture, paying homage to drag legends like Kevin Aviance. This inclusive tribute extended to luminaries such as Black transgender DJ and producer Honey Dijon and the drag artist Moi Renee.
The film showcases an enormous stage set for the tour, setting it apart from other concert tours. In a unique tribute to her stage crew, Beyoncé highlights their contributions.
