In the Alaskan wilderness, a Special Forces officer and his combat dog, Odin, are in a fight for survival. After a harrowing plane crash leaves them stranded, James Belmont, played by Brad Pitt, and his trusty sidekick must work together to defy the odds and make it to safety. Along the way, they’re met with a number of life-threatening ordeals, including wild animals, raging white-water river crossings and James’ worsening heart condition. As time runs out, James and Odin rely on their shared bond to stay alive long enough for help to arrive. But the journey to safety isn’t easy…

Director David Ayer is known for films like Suicide Squad and Fury, which both rely on huge ensemble casts to tell their stories. In Heart of the Beast, it’s the exact opposite.
