The 30th Annual Bounce Trumpet Awards were held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and will air on Bounce on Juneteenth at 7pm ET.
The annual awards show began with a dazzling red carpet where honorees, presenters, performers, and guests made appearances. Among the attendees were honorees Courtney B. Vance, Princess Sarah Culberson, and Zalia Avant-garde.
Founder of The Trumpet Awards and American Civil Rights leader Xernona Clayton was at the event. As was Reverend Jesse Jackson, actor and comedian J.B. Smoove, Shahidah Omar, Skye Townsend, CEO of Essence Caroline Wanga, Jalyn Hall, Kareem J. Grimes, Philip Smithey, and many others.
The Bounce Trumpet Awards were founded to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of African Americans and those who have succeeded against great odds and inspired success in others. Founded in 1992 by American Civil Rights leader Xernona Clayton, The Trumpet Awards were acquired by Bounce in 2016.
Since the first ceremony in 1992, the list of prestigious honorees has grown to include Muhammad Ali, Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, Halle Berry, Stevie Wonder, Steve Harvey, Martin Luther King III, Janelle Monáe, Spike Lee, and many others.
The show featured incredible performances by Tank, PJ Morton, Mary Mary, and more, while presenters included Caroline Wanga and Xernona Clayton, among others.
