Pixar, there is a reason we love you and this is one reason why
Pixar Animated Studios has come up with a new short film titled, “Sanjay’s Super Team,” directed by artist Sanjay Patel, details Sanjay’s own experiences as a first-generation Indian American. The story for this short follows a young Indian-American boy whose love for western pop culture comes into conflict with his father’s conservative traditions. Sanjay, who has a passion for cartoons and comics, tries to balance that love with the traditions of the Hindu practice and with that a creative and stunning adventure takes place as the boy embarks on a journey that he could never have imagined and finds a new perspective that both he and his father can both embrace. This fun short will be released on November 25, 2015.
Sanjay Patel joined Pixar Animation Studios in 1996 as an animator on “A Bug’s Life.” Since then he has animated on many of Pixar’s feature films, including “Toy Story 2,” “Monster’s Inc.,” “The Incredibles,” “Ratatouille,” “Cars,” Toy Story 3” and “Monsters University.” In addition to animating, Patel also storyboarded extensively for “Monster’s Inc.,” “The Incredibles” and “Toy Story 2.” For the Cars Toons “Mater’s Tall Tales,” Patel stepped up to act as animation supervisor on many of the shorts in the series.
