Last week, we escaped the downtown bustle and stepped into Casa Bond NoHo‘s cool, Tulum-inspired embrace. With windows flung open on the hot spring day, the bar area and craft cocktails beckoned, but it was the art on the walls that satisfied our senses.
In collaboration with Casa Bond’s creative maestro Michael Arguello, artist Michael Sadowsky curated a vibrant collection of paintings and sculptures for feature at the restaurant this summer. These visually arresting works grow more intriguing with each glance and from every unique perspective.
One piece near the entrance features a helmet-wearing driver being pulled by a horse. Nearby is a striking and mysterious blue statue, covered in symbols. Deeper inside, more Sadowsky magic unfolds – a symphony of patterns, hidden figures, and layered dimensions.
Sadowsky’s synesthesia fuels his art, a neurological condition that gives him a unique way of perceiving the world. He “sees” emotions, music, and even people as colors.
Indeed, his pieces offer an instant connection and reward closer inspection of their hidden complexities with little discoveries, a world of figures, patterns, and surprising depth within each canvas.
Casa Bond NoHo on Bowery will host CASA ANIMOTIS for the next two months. Take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the immersive experience that this art provides.
