Candlelight Concerts fused two of music’s most famous Billies, Billie Eilish and Billie Holiday to create the most unique muti sensory musical experience.
Hosted at LA’s Skirball Cultural Center, these candlelit performances allow you to experience live music in a completely new way. Hundreds of candles illuminate the venue, creating a serene atmosphere that will enhance your listening experience. In celebration of the four-year anniversary of Billie Eilish’s debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go, Pia Salvia on the vocals and harp joined by her ensemble comprised a 60-minute set meshing the famous Billies. “Never imagined I would once combine music of Billie Holiday and Billie Eilish in one show neither that I would ever play “Bad Guy” on harp,” Salvia wrote on an Instagram caption.
The ensemble played popular Eilish songs such as “Ocean Eyes,” “Your Power” and “Bad Guy” as well as iconic Holiday songs like “Solitude,” “Billie’s Blues,” and “How Deep is the Ocean.” The melodic sounds of Avi Rafael on the saxophone, Jake Leckie on the bass and Noam Israeli on the drums surrounded attendees with surprise and delight. Candlelight Concerts takes place in various spectacular locations across the globe with a wide variety of themes and genres: classical, jazz, pop, movie soundtracks, ballet, among others. There is a Candlelight for everyone, from Bach to the Beatles, Vivaldi to Aretha Franklin, Ludovico Einaudi, Queen, Coldplay, the list continues to grow.
