This summer, Los Angeles families are in for a treat as CAMP, the renowned Family Experience Company, brings its enchanting “The Little Mermaid” immersive adventure to Westfield Century City. Opening August 2nd at CAMP’s West Coast Flagship location in Westfield Century City Mall. This captivating experience promises to be an unforgettable journey into the magical world “under the sea.”
The immersive show, inspired by Disney’s 2023 live-action reimagining of “The Little Mermaid,” transforms a 5,300-square-foot space into a vibrant undersea realm. Behind CAMP’s signature Magic Door, visitors are invited to explore a myriad of fantastical environments that bring the beloved film to life.
From the moment you step inside, the adventure begins. Families will be greeted by live musicians performing iconic songs from the film, including “Under The Sea,” “Part of Your World,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Poor Unfortunate Souls.” The live music sets the stage for a full sensory experience that’s sure to delight both kids and adults alike.
King Triton’s Palace is a major highlight, where guests can take a seat on the grand throne and wield Triton’s trident to command the seas. Ariel’s Grotto offers a scavenger hunt for hidden treasures and enchanting gadgets, while Ursula’s dark lair features a spellbinding magic show. For those seeking a bit of adventure, the abandoned shipwreck awaits with its cargo net tunnels, crow’s nest, and treasure chests just waiting to be discovered.
The experience doesn’t stop there. Visitors can also indulge in exclusive Disney The Little Mermaid x CAMP apparel and accessories at the Beachside Market. The collection, designed in collaboration with Disney, features shimmering sequins and jewel-tone colors inspired by the underwater world. A standout piece is the Magic Mermaid Skirt, which can transform from a frilly organza skirt into a shimmering mermaid tail with a simple snap. Camp gave The Knockturnal a bubbly invitation to this immersive experience and this was my highlighted experience. From the moment I arrived, it was a whirlwind of fun and enchantment as guests were greeted by joyous singing and dancing to live renditions of my personal favorite Disney songs like “Under The Sea,” “Part of Your World,” “Kiss The Girl,” and “Poor Unfortunate Souls” made me feel like I was truly part of Ariel’s world. Visiting King Triton’s Palace was a highlight; I had so much fun sitting on his grand throne and pretending to command the seas with his powerful trident with my friends or should I say mer-folk alongside me. Ariel’s Grotto was a treasure trove of excitement with its scavenger hunt for gadgets and “gizmos a-plenty.”
Sliding through Ursula’s dark lair and catching a dazzling magic show was thrilling and utterly magical. Exploring the abandoned shipwreck, climbing through cargo net tunnels, reaching the crow’s nest, and discovering hidden treasure chests was something I was hoping to check off of my Camp x The Little Mermaid experience. And of course, I couldn’t resist shopping at the Beachside Market for exclusive Disney The Little Mermaid x CAMP apparel and accessories—bringing a piece of the underwater magic home with me. Every moment was filled with wonder and joy, making it an unforgettable experience I’m so grateful to have shared, all thanks to Camp!
