C3 hosted a lunchtime tasting featuring four of its most in-demand restaurants: Umami Burger, Sam’s Crispy Chicken, Krispy Rice, and Kumi. My word, what a lineup.
It all went down at the recently-opened Soho Works, a collaborative workspace tucked into Soho House in West Hollywood. I swung by on my lunch break with an appetite and a cute top and proceeded to sample three sensational dishes.
The Sam’s Crispy Chicken sandwich I ordered knocked me out, a divine dose of New Orleans spices on succulent tenders, housed in a brioche bun. To die for.
Next, I took a turn at Umami’s legendary impossible burger, which is simply the finest meat-substitute burger I’ve ever had. The texture, the taste, and the seasoning was all top-notch and left me fiending for another.
I closed things out with a bento box from Krispy Rice, which was as fresh and delectable as the day is long. I fully forgot there’s a Krispy Rice close to my apartment, and have now made it my mission to put all their employees kid’s through college with my incessant ordering.
The next day I used the Go by Citizens app to stock up on enough Umami burger to last through the brutal Los Angeles winter. I suggest you do the same! You can order from all of C3s hip and wildly popular restaurants from your bed. Sorry, I meant from your ‘home office,’ while working diligently.
Additional Sighting: This past Friday 8/27 pop star Kim Petras celebrated her birthday and her new single “Future Starts Now” during Evita’s weekly Friday Night party at sbe’s Nightingale. Petras arrived in a jovial mood with an entourage and walked into the packed club. Making her way to the stage she was wearing a tube top with French-inspired Barret and turquoise eye makeup that matcher her turquoise-painted fingernails. She treated the crowd to two performances of her hits “Future Starts Now” and also “Hillside Boys.” Following she was presented by a birthday cake while the crowd serenaded her singing Happy Birthday.
