Oscar winners Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth and the Grey’s Anatomy hottie Patrick Dempsey teamed up to
bring the next chapter of the beloved cult classic Bridget Jones Diary with Bridget Jones’s Baby. Directed by Sharon Maguire, who also directed Bridget Jones Diary, the new film based on creator Helen Fielding’s heroine finds Bridget unexpectedly with a bun in the oven.
In the upcoming film we find out that Bridget Jones (Zellweger) and Mark Darcy (Firth), which puts our faith in true love back to 0. Bridget finds herself in her forties and single once again, she decides to focus on her job as a top news producer and surrounds herself with friends. It seems like after all this time Bridget has finally got her act together, but as we all know all good things must come to an end.
For Bridget that ended when she met a handsome American named Jack (Dempsey) the man who was everything Mr. Darcy was not. In an unlikely twist she finds herself pregnant, but there is one small problem… she can only be fifty percent sure of the identity of her baby’s father.
The highly anticipated third installment of the Bridget Jones’s franchise welcomes fellow Academy Award winner Emma Thompson to the cast. Longtime collaborators Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title Films produce alongside Debra Hayward. Universal Pictures will distribute Bridget Jones’s Baby in North America and select international territories.
