In a world where the music industry is constantly evolving, Rhea Raj is a force to be reckoned with. A pop artist, producer, and dancer, Rhea is shattering barriers and redefining what it means to be a modern-day pop icon.

Growing up immersed in classical Indian dance while idolizing pop legends like Britney Spears and Janet Jackson, Rhea’s unique blend of cultural heritage and contemporary flair sets her apart in the industry. Her fiery stage presence and vocal prowess have earned her performances at prestigious events such as SXSW, the United Nations, and New York Fashion Week.

In 2020, Rhea’s talents were recognized when she was named the Songwriters Hall of Fame x BMI award winner. Her global anthems “Outside” and “Devil In A Dress” have garnered critical acclaim amassing over 100 million views on TikTok. Streaming services have taken note as well, with Spotify featuring Rhea on a billboard in Times Square and Amazon spotlighting her at the Identity Festival at The Grammy Museum in LA. In 2023, she was celebrated as Spotify, Gold House, and AEG’s artist of the year, with her new single “MESSY” debuting on 102.7 KIIS FM and its bold music video captivating audiences.

Rhea’s journey from being the “hunted” to the HUNTER is powerfully depicted in her debut album HUNTER, released on May 24th. This dance-pop record, infused with 2000s and global musical influences, explores themes of empowerment, love, fashion, femininity, and identity. It’s a testament to her growth and resilience, showcasing her ability to transcend cultural boundaries and redefine herself on her own terms.

In our conversation, Rhea and I bonded over our shared experiences as Indian-American women born in 2000. We discussed the challenges of growing up feeling somewhat ostracized and our journey towards embracing and loving our culture. We talked about having since embraced our rich cultural heritage, integrating elements of our history into our fashion and identity today. Rhea’s journey is not just a personal triumph but a beacon of inspiration for many who strive to balance multiple cultural identities.

Rhea Raj is not just redefining what it means to be an It-Girl; she is setting new standards for young people everywhere. Her path is a beacon of inspiration for many, and her story is just beginning.

Check out our exclusive interview where we delve into Rhea Raj’s world, exploring her musical inspirations, her journey to stardom, and how she continues to break barriers and inspire a new generation of artists!
