‘Better Call Saul’ Unveils Pop-Up Restaurant in NYC

Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad prequel series, is returning for its third season Monday. Ahead of its release, AMC has unveiled a pop-up “Los Pollos Hermanos” restaurant. Los Pollos Hermanos, the popular fried chicken spot from Breaking Bad, will be coming to Saul’s third season – along with its villainous owner, Gustavo Fring.

The pop-up first premiered at SXSW. The newest iteration will be in NYC until Monday evening. The restaurant will be hosted by Citizens Parking, one of the biggest parking companies in the US. The restaurant’s existence will coincide with the third season premiere of Better Call Saul. Los Pollos Hermanos will be serving up curly fries, along with several complementary sauces. Jimmy McGill’s iconic car will also be available for pictures while patrons wait in line. Additionally, star Michael McKean will swing by Monday afternoon. McKean plays Jimmy’s brother, Chuck McGill, who seeks to undermine Jimmy’s career. McKean will be especially nefarious this season, pushing Jimmy further into lawlessness. How Chuck manages to sneak outside for the food is anyone’s best guess.

Many will remember Los Pollos Hermanos primarily from Breaking Bad. The chain’s owner, Gus, served as a serious antagonist to Walter White and Jesse. However, AMC has confirmed that Gus will play a major role this season in Better Call Saul. Gus will join other familiar Breaking Bad faces, such as Mike Ehrmantraut and Hector Salamanca.

Better Call Saul is viewed by many as nothing more than a Breaking Bad spinoff. However, since premiering, the show has garnered a lot of critical acclaim. Notably, the second season received seven Emmy nominations. The third season looks especially promising, as it provides a clearer path to Breaking Bad. Fans of the prequel series have been wondering when Jimmy McGill will take up the moniker “Saul Goodman.” Now, it seems, we will finally see when – and why.

The address for the restaurant is 243 Pearl Street, New York, NY, 10038. It will be open on Monday, from 10AM to 8PM EST. Fans can then catch the Better Call Saul s3 premiere at 10PM EST.
