Color me pink!
Last night in New York City, Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s annual Hot Pink Party raised a whopping $8.5 Million. The massive support came as the group returned to an in-person gala at The Glasshouse in New York City.
The incredible night supported BCRF’s global legion of 250 scientists pursuing high-impact, lifesaving breast cancer research.
“Not having been able to be here in person for the last two years has been really tough,” said host and Global Ambassador of The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign, Elizabeth Hurley, on the pink carpet about the epic return. “We did very well with our virtual events. But I think to reconnect with people like we are tonight, just means an awful lot. It’s inspiring.”
The beautiful and meaningful evening featured a performance by the legendary Patti LaBelle, as well as a moment of recognition for BCRF President and CEO Myra Biblowit for her 21 years of extraordinary leadership as she prepares to retire this year.
Gretta Monahan additionally presented The Roslyn and Leslie Goldstein Unsung Hero Award to June Jacobs and Rochelle Jacobs.
“All the treatments that are breakthroughs BCRF has funded and the work of the scientists and researchers it goes without saying we are here to celebrate that,” Monahan stated on the carpet as she took a moment to further reflect on how more funding and support in the future will help the cause for years to come.
Other notable guests at the grand gala included: Vera Wang, Nina Garcia, Zac Posen, Radhika Jones, Jill Kargman, Lois Robbins, Emma Myles, Jenna Leigh Green, Lydia Fenet, Ingrid Vandebosch and Jeff Gordon and more.
In 2021, breast cancer became the most common cancer worldwide for the first time, underscoring the rising and urgent need for research. BCRF is proud to be the largest private funder of breast cancer research worldwide and the highest rated breast cancer organization in the U.S.
