Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer are opening up shop once again.
“[W]hen they approached me with the third Barbershop I felt like we needed a reason,” Ice Cube said in the newest featurette for the upcoming film Barbershop: The Next Cut
The beloved crew is back together again for the third installment of the popular Barbershop franchise directed by Malcolm D. Lee. Calvin (Ice Cube) and Eddie (Cedric) along with their longtime crew are still shaving and snipping away, but this time they have undergone some big changes. The usual testosterone filled atmosphere now has added a bit of femininity to the mix. These women bring a new flavor full of drama and gossip that sometimes rub the men the wrong way.
Despite constant bickering the gang has always kept the shop full of laughs and good times, but the outside community has taken a turn for the worse. Calvin and the rest of the crew are forced to unite in an effort to save their neighborhood, after all its all about community.
Barbershop: The Next Cut not only brings back the very talented Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer, but brings together a star studded cast featuring Regina Hall (Think Like a Man), Anthony Anderson (TV’s Black-ish), Eve (Whip It), JB Smoove (TV’s The Millers), Oscar winner Common and recording artist Nicki Minaj.
