The Knockturnal was invited backstage at the Antonio Marras F/W 2016 presentation on February 27, 2016. Check it out!
MAC Cosmetics’ lead make up designer, Tom Pecheux discussed the make up look for the Antonio Marras’ show:
–
The makeup started with a story. The designer, Antonio Marras , got inspired by a movie called Adele Ash. The movie tells the story of a young woman who fell into a deep passion when she fell in love. Unfortunately that passion destroyed her, burning her from the inside. That is what we are expressing with the lip color.
That is why the lip is very black on the inside and gets redder as it moves out to the edger lips. We used the Dance With Me Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour to create this look. Also around the lip we used a MAC Gloss to create a white and very shimmery line to help us recreate the innocence the girl once had.
Did you do anything to the skin?
–
The skin is very pale, but there is a little bit of highlight on the cheek with the MAC Highlighter Compact, with a little bit of black and red under the eye. We also used MAC’s Peaches Blush, however we applied the blush vertically in order for it to look like the model was crying. I believe this make up shows women that you can express your feelings by they way you apply it. For example just with a red lip you can show femininity, passion, or rebellion and honestly, I think that is what make up is here for.
You can recreate this look at a local MAC Cosmetics store near you.
