I totally missed the part on the invitation where it said ‘compete…physical challenges’. But since I absolutely appreciate a good workout competition of some sort, I thought,… ‘I’m a pretty athletic person’, ‘I workout pretty often’, or so I thought. And we do get to drink at some point, right… ‘it’s cool, I got this’. So, my only real challenge, in my mind at the time, was ‘what am I going to wear?
Wednesday, October 19 – Bacardi Oakheart offered door-to-door service for their media preview event at Tone House fitness studio in NYC. Teaming up with the amazing folks at Tone House, the brand curated a special evening of physical feats, challenging attendees to ‘Take the Oakth” in a high impact workout session with a crew of awesome Tone House instructors who literally pull the fight out of you. Followed by what was to me, a victory celebration with Bacardi Oakheart spiced rum, for making it out alive.
Sharing a spirit of community camaraderie, Bacardi Oakheart and Tone House were a match-made success. Along with building brotherhood, the Oakheart brand was pretty inventive with this one. Tone House, while providing the most gratifying workout I’ve ever had, their routine was also the toughest, most rigorous workout I’ve ever had.
Day’s later, I am still suffering from slight reminiscences of body aches and pain. At one point, I thought I might have to pay a visit to the emergency room; but before I allowed myself to overreact, I looked it up, something about, ‘delayed onset muscle soreness’, with the soreness peaking a day or two later, and after that workout, I should have expected the most tumultuous of body aches would ensue.
I was also maybe a tad bit over-confident when I walked into that red room.
Later, knocked down a few notches, within the first few minutes of the ‘warm-up’ actually; not even the actual workout. I’ll even go as far as being a little bit more honest in saying that, at one point, I had to sit out.
I thought I was going to kill it.
Although, not quite, I still finished strong. Highly due to the encouragement and push by my group mates and incredible instructors from Tone House. By the end of it, we had built up quite a team; I forgot it was supposed to be a competition, I think we all did. Mission accomplished, Bacardi Oakheart.
All that hard work deserved us a drink afterwards; and a cup of Bacardi Oakheart spiced rum was the perfect trick. Simple, the flavor is distinct and smooth, within minutes the memory of the hardest workout of my life became faint and we hadn’t even left the building yet.
I even threw a few shots of it into the gravy for my baked chicken the following day, trying to keep up with the campaign at home since being gifted a bottle of it in the awesome goody bag.
With Barcardi Oakhearts national consumer campaign kicking off this month, Bacardi will be teaming up with athletes and hometown heroes, hosting tailgating parties, and challenging sports fans around the country to ‘take the oakth’ too.
