Paisley, stripes, botanical prints, polka dots, satin, layering, suede, peplum, citrus, and eclectic beading were all showcased at the Manhattan Vintage Show. This season’s exhibit celebrated the style of fashion created by Ralph Lauren curated by Melanie Bendavid.

The Paley center for media presented Ready-to-watch: TV and Fashion, The minds behind some of televisions best fashion moments explored the influence film has had on the fashion industry throughout the years. The panel consisted of costume designer Jenn Rogien, Isaac Mizrahi, Zosia Mamet alongside esteemed moderator Bridget Foley of WWD.
In recent times we have seen a resurgence of vintage stores and it is apparent that pre-owned clothes are the new “it” items.
The Yajun show showcased a series of black and white pieces that blurred the lines Between traditional clothing and avant-garde silhouettes with the use of voluminous puffer jackets, elongated shirts, oversized jackets and heavily gathered sleeves. Basic items were elevated with rebellious touches created through tonal fabric overlays and texture.
All comes from nothing, a term that can be used for clothing, after all, it all starts as basic fabric yardage before being transformed into an item of clothing. Designer, Eva Xu was inspired by the work of Gustave Klimt, in particular, “The woman in gold” (Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I) at the Neue Galerie.
Inspired by the ‘Bond girls’ designer Dani Lui incorporated feminine silhouettes with a contemporary nature for his Fall/Winter 2018 collection.
