20th Century Studios and Disney Plus brings back our beloved Christmas tradition of a boy left Home Alone.
In the Home Alone tradition, our hero will do whatever it takes to protect his home. From traps and tricks to humor and heartwarming moments, Home Sweet Home Alone is the holiday movie to watch with the whole family. Max Mercer is accidentally left behind when his family goes to Japan during the holidays. A couple attempting to break into Max’s home and retrieve a priceless item is faced with his wit and surprises.
Home Sweet Home Alone has an amazing lineup of stars including: Archie Yates, Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Kenan Thompson, Aisling Bea, Tim Simons, Ally Maki, Devin Ratray, Pete Holmes and Chris Parnell. The film is Directed by Dan Mazer. Streeter Seidell and Mikey Day wrote the script based on the original screenplay by John Hughes.
The Knockturnal recently spoke to Archie Yates, Aisling Bea, Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, and Ally Maki about the new movie. They talked about their excitement of when they were first cast, the comedy on set and their favorite holiday traditions. Archie told us about his preparation and hard work for his role. Many of the cast members mentioned how they were fans of the original movies that inspired Home Sweet Home Alone.

Guilty Party is a story of a journalist, Beth Burgess, who tries to uncover the story of a mother who is sentenced to life in prison. Beth attempts to dig deeper and understand what really happened with Toni Plimpton, who is accused of killing her husband. As they dig deeper into the case, Beth and Toni face unexpected challenges and danger. The show was created and produced by Rebecca Addelman. The show stars Kate Beckinsale, Jules Latimer, Alanna Ubach, Andre Hyland, Geoff Stults, Laurie Davidson, and Tiya Sircar.
The Knockturnal recently sat down with Jules Latimer and asked her about the new series. Jules is a 2020 graduate of The Julliard School and lead in the theater production “Paris.” Jules told us about how auditioning for a lot of different projects finally helped her land on this show. She also explained how she helped shape her character Toni. Jules spends a lot of time preparing and understanding the characters she plays for the theater and screen. For this role, Jules watched documentaries and researched prisons in upstate New York and she was able to contribute to shaping this character. The ten part series featuring Jules Latimer playing Toni Plimpton is now streaming.

The Knockturnal recently interviewed Javicia and Robin and they shared their excitement for the new season of Batwoman. Javicia Leslie previously played in “God Friended Me,” The Family Business” and “Always a Bridesmaid.” She told us about the unique role of playing a superhero, “I had never been in this position to be able to do so many things in one role, it’s an action show, but it’s also still a superhero show. So it’s fantasy and it’s also very grounded.” She described two roles she plays in the show, both as Ryan and Batwoman.
Robin Givens has played some amazing roles in shows and movies over the years, including “Head of the State,” The Family That Preys,” “90210” and “Once upon a Time.” Robin stars in the new season of Batwoman as the mysterious and powerful Jada Jet. Robin and her family were excited for her to play this role. Robin explained, “it’s so fun to play a roll that my kids love and think this is really cool.” The excitement grows for her character Jada Jet and her part in Gotham City. She told us, “as an actor at this moment in my life, I love that kind of combo of powerhouse woman and mom.”
Season 3 of Batwoman continues the story with new and returning characters. Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) continues to carry out the legacy of the bat and protect Gotham. Batwoman and the Bat Team work together to figure out a series of mysteries, while Ryan struggles with the news that her mother is still alive. Mary (Nicole Kang) and Luke (Camrus Johnson) join Ryan in working together to save Gotham. This season also stars Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Victoria Cartagena, and Nick Creegan. The new Disney+ series, Doogie Kamealoha, M.D., begins streaming September 8th.
Peyton Elizabeth Lee stars as Lahela a 16 year old prodigy doctor known as Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. The new Disney plus series is set in Hawaii and is inspired by Doogie Howser, M.D., the original show that ran from 1989-1993. This new series is for the whole family and is filled with comedy and drama. The episodes follow Lahela as she tries to balance her responsibilities as a doctor and teenager.
The show features an exciting cast of her family members played by Kathleen Rose Perkins, Jason Scott Lee, Matthew Sato, and Wes Tian. Working in the hospital is the hilarious team of Jeffrey Chapman-Bowyer, Mapuana Makia and Ronny Chieng. Lahela’s friends are played by Alex Aiono and Emma Meisel. The Knockturnal recently interviewed this cast as they shared their experience. Filming during a pandemic was a challenge, but they worked together to follow safety procedures during traveling and filming. Most of the cast celebrated how they loved filming in Hawaii, as they enjoyed the beauty of the state.
The creator and executive producer Kourtney Kang told the Knockturnal about how she created the ideas for this series. Her inspirations came from her childhood and the show Doogie Howser, M.D. While being inspired by Doogie Howser, this series Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. is new and creative. Watch the show only on Disney+, streaming starting September 8th.
