On Monday July 11, contemporary menswear brand ARTISTIX held its official NYFW:M afterparty at the Folley Gallery in the Lower East Side.
The event featured hand-painted designs by ARTISTIX’s founder and self-made artist, Greg Polisseni. Polisseni’s work is chaotically beautiful and added so much energy to an already animated crowd. As a complementary artist feature to the event, the work and paintings of Christopher Florentino, known as “Flore,” were displayed in the gallery’s second room. Flore’s high-def, multi-colored filters used in his work were disorienting in the best way.
From the eclectic energy of the crowd to the vibrant artwork that filled the room, this was a gathering of true creatives, each with his or her own unique perspective and style. Among this high-energy group was fashion veteran Andy Hilfiger, who recently joined the ARTISTIX team as Fashion Director and brand consultant earlier this year.
The combination of Polisseni’s dynamic artisty with Hilfiger’s track record of taking brands to the next level – skyrocketing labels for stars such as J.Lo, Nikki Minaj, and Adam Levine to name a few – is most certainly a reason to celebrate; and Monday night was just that.
