Art New York, presented by Art Miami returned for its fourth installment at Pier 94!
Art New York took the city by storm May 3rd through May 6th! The exhibition consisted of over 95 galleries comprised of artists from 30 countries. The collections featured the contemporary, modern, post-war and pop eras with paintings, photography, prints, drawings, design and sculpture. The highlight collection was called “CONTEXT,” a platform used by new and established galleries to showcase emerging talent. “We are excited to once again present a premium international contemporary and modern art fair,” said Nick Korniloff, Co-Director, Art New York.
Some of my favorite pieces came from the Rosenfeld Gallery, who housed some of Basquiat’s earlier work such as “Untitled” 1981. The Rosenfeld collection featured several expressionist and modern pieces by Jean Dubuffet as well. Some highlights from Art New York included a one-man show by the Gary Lichtenstein Editions called “Multiple Layers,” 30% of whose proceeds went towards the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation. Another standout collection were the Vellum projects presenting Diana Wege’s Reject Violence Prints.Art Nexus Guided Tours also helped enhance the experience. The overall exhibition was a huge success! Make sure to check out pictures from Art New York below!
