Art Miami, America’s foremost contemporary art show of international galleries kicked off this year’s Art Week Miami. In it’s 28th year the fair showcased works from more than 140 international galleries from over 22 countries representing over 60 cities. One of the top ranked international art fairs, Art Miami attracts more than 85,000 collectors, curators, and museum professionals. Knockturnal favorites included works from American painter, Morris Louis, “Para IV,” a big canvas of watercooler like designs made in 1959 from the Yares Art gallery, Santa Fe; Carole A. Feuerman’s, renowned hyperrealist sculptor larger-than-life “Survival of Serena” from Markowicz Fine Art gallery, Miami as well as Mr. Brainwash, French-born, Los Angeles-based street artist Thierry Guetta’s “Mickey & Minnie” cartoon characters set to a graffied backdrop courtesy of the Contessa Gallery, Ohio.

Art Miami’s sister fair, CONTEXT Art Miami, also debuted in a brand new waterfront location, on the former site of the Miami Herald. Quality paintings, photography, prints, drawings, design, sculpture and video art, with works from the 20th and 21st centuries were on display as well as the most sought after living artists from around the world.

Also in full swing, Aqua Art Miami located in a classic South Beach hotel has become the premier destination of the works by young, emerging and mid-career artists. But unlike the other fairs happening that week, Aqua is unique in its signature relaxed style and intimate vibe featuring 52 international artists.
