Anthony Bourdain Releases ‘Get Jiro: Blood and Sushi’

There’s something amazing about eating Penne alla Vodka or veal parmesan or a chicken gyro with extra white sauce. Now that I’m thinking about it, there’s a halal food cart outside right now. Wait hold on. . . ok I’m back. Wow, I bet reading about this has made you want to get some food too, right? Wouldn’t that be the best idea ever? Reading about savory food?

Well it looks like Anthony Bourdain answered our wishes. Following his graphic novel in 2012 called Get Jiro! about a cut-throat sushi chef, he’s at it again with Get Jiro: Blood and Sushi. He teamed up with Joel Rose, who helped on the first novel. The original, which was drawn by Langdon Floss, followed Jiro as he met a medley of characters. He made sushi and also defeated Los Angeles cooking gangs. The prequel, will now be drawn by Ale Garza. The novel will take place in Tokyo, a few years before the LA cooking gangs of the first novel. The prequel will follow Jiro as he works for his father’s mob, but ultimately chooses his passion of cooking over following in his father’s footsteps.

You can now even get the book on Amazon, which features tons of pun-filled reviews from customers.

You can also watch Anthony on his awesome show Parts Unknown on CNN. He travels across the globe to uncover little-known destinations and diverse cultures.

When she's not biking around her hometown of Astoria or testing out the train system of another country, you can find her slinging wine and drinks at a friend's local bar.
