Last week we had the pleasure of interviewing the bubbly Anne Marie and this week we caught her exclusive showcase at NeueHouse.
If you haven’t already heard/watched the wildly popular music video for Anne-Marie’s hit single “Alarm” then you’re slacking. The music video, which dropped May 20th, has garnered over 13 million views on YouTube! Not only is Anne-Marie a hit online and on social media, her vivacious energy really shines when she performs. Don’t let her name fool you, Anne-Marie is anything but the wholesome girl next door. She’s a delightful mix of cute, edgy, gentle, and rough with the most infectious laugh. Very few artists have the vocal ability to sound live as they do on a record, but Anne-Marie really exceeds expectations. Although Anne-Marie hails from Essex, England she has a slight Caribbean twang that conjures a Rihanna-like vocal aesthetic.
Last night Anne-Marie, along with her lovely band put on a special showcase at NeueHouse where she absolutely killed it. Anne-Marie is a great singer, songwriter and performer, not only because of her voice, but she’s charismatic as well! She prefaced each song with a funny anecdote or silly face and really gave it her all especially on tracks like “Alarm,” “Do It Right” and “Boy.” Even on sad songs or ones with more serious subject matter like “Breathing Fire” you can’t help but dance. The showcase featured an open bar with specialty tequila cocktails sponsored by Tequila Herradura. The evening was also co-sponsored by Flavorpill media to create the perfect laid-back ambiance.
