While international travel isn’t an option, thankfully we can all get a taste of Paris while in New York! Renowned French tearoom and pastry house Angelina Paris opens its first U.S. location today at 1050 Avenue of the Americas.
The new storefront marks the brand’s 31st bakery around the world. Angelina Paris offers full-service dining as well as a retail shop and grab-and-go bakery options. A pastry “laboratory” also occupies the ground floor.
A century-old patisserie, Angelina Paris is known for its rich hot chocolate and legendary Mont Blanc pastry. Icons such as Coco Chanel and Marcel Proust have dined at the Parisian location of Angelina’s; now it’s only fitting for the celebrity favorite to be in Midtown New York.
“There is a strong appetite in the United States and New York City in particular, for the romantic yet relaxed atmosphere of one of Paris’ most classic tearooms,” Anthony Battaglia, Chief Operating Office of Angelina Paris New York, said. “We are eager to open our doors safely and welcome American consumers in, to enjoy the sophisticated and charming dining and shopping experience of Angelina Paris in the heart of Manhattan.”
The tearoom is modeled off of Angelina’s Paris flagship restaurant, with Belle Epoque style of famed early 1900s architect Edouard-Jean Niermans. Angelina offers breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, with a blend of classic French delicacies and modern Parisian comforts. The space will be following all CDC safety guidelines, including socially-distanced tables and operating at 25% capacity.
Bon appétit!
