American Rust: Broken Justice, the crime drama television series based on the novel of the same name, kicked off its second season premiere at New York City’s Whitby Hotel.
Cast and crew were in attendance, including series leads Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber, The Squid and The Whale), Maura Tierney (Liar Liar, Beautiful Boy), and Rob Yang (Succession), as well as showrunners Dan Futterman and Adam Rapp.
The cast made their way across the red carpet while guests stocked up on complementary popcorn and candy and settled into the Whitby Hotel’s screening room for a special viewing of the season’s first episode before its public release. In the screening room showrunner Adam Rapp expressed his gratitude to the cast and crew that made the show possible, despite its initial cancellation on Showtime. Following the screening, guests were invited to attend a reception in the Whitby Hotel’s bar area and mingle with the stars of American Rust.
Viewers can expect far more drama and suspense in American Rust’s second season. The season begins with characters Billy (Alex Neustaedter) and Isaac (David Alvarez) reuniting after Billy’s stint in prison following the murder of ex-cop Pete (Jim True-Frost). What the rest of the town doesn’t know is that Isaac killed Pete—not Billy. Will Isaac be found out? This is one example of the many riveting plot points featured in the second season of American Rust: Broken Justice.
