Amber Heard appeared in court with a bruised face, accusing Johnny Depp of repeated domestic abuse.
The judge granted her a restraining order which requires Depp to stay 100 yards away from her. Heard showed photos of herself with various bruises, stating that Depp inflicted these wounds upon her during their marriage.
Heard says that on Saturday night, Depp smashed his iPhone on her face and shattered objects in their apartment. This occurred after a discussion about the death of Depp’s mother. Heard states, “Johnny continued screaming and breaking things, finally leaving the condominium. As Johnny went down the hallway, he smashed another bottle of wine then went into the adjoining condominium I used as my office, painting studio, and closet. I could hear him destroying items of personal property as he continued screaming.”
She was on the phone with a friend when the attack began, and she screamed to her friend, “Call the cops!” When the police showed up, Depp had left the residence. LAPD Sgt. Marlon Marrache said that officers found “no evidence of any crime.” He also stated that, “a crime did not occur so the officers left the scene and left a business card,” later saying that Heard had not filed an official complaint. Marrache explained that had there been signs of abuse, the police would have conducted an investigation even if Heard did not want to press charges.
Heard fired for divorce on Monday.
