Alano Miller plays Cato on WGN’s hit show “Underground,” which premieres on March 8.
What can fans expect from Cato?
Alano: A grand entrance. He does everything in style. I think this year, we go through so many twists and turns of emotions, money, all those things. Physical changes that he goes through. I’m really excited to see how people react this year, because either he’s going to be the guy you’ve always wanted him to be or the guy you’ve always expected him to be. We’ll see.
We saw him sneak away with that big trunk of money. What’s that money going to do to him?
Alano: You know, I was saying, no one’s seen this character before. We’re just reintroducing someone to you that you’ve never had a chance to know. You don’t know this one, this Cato. I mean, he wears these amazing suits. His language, all of it. He’s top notch now. I’m very, very excited for you guys to see him.
I heard you get to work with John Legend. Can you speak about that?
Alano: It was amazing. He’s a great guy. We have a lot of fun. He showed up on set, prepared, ready to go. I love him, because he would be like, “You know, am I doing it, because I want to be right with you.” I’m like, “John, you’re great, man.” I mean, he is. He just has that spirit. He gets to play that piano. We get to conspire about some stuff. He’s awesome. He’s just a awesome guy.
