Virginia has brought many talented artists such as Trey Songz and Chris Brown to R&B and has now given us a new rising talent MikexAngel. Angel a protégée of Songz and artist signed to 300 Entertainment, previewed his latest project titled Nothing 2 Somethin (N2S) alongside Trey Songz at Platinum Sound Recording Studio on May 17th.
Mike got his start in the church and adopted his stage name after being told he had an angelic sounding voice.
Nothing 2 Somethin features 13 tracks including “Anxious” which features Trey, and it was revealed that the new single to be released will be “One Time” for which Angel recently filmed a video in LA. Prior to Nothing to Somethin, Angel worked with Trey on songs on Trey’s To Whom It May Concern mixtape, (“Everybody Say,” “Never Enough”) as well as reteaming with him on Anticipation 3, which he provided contributions on eight of the eleven tracks. He is also the only guest artist on Trey Songz’s latest album Tremaine on the song “Games We Play”.
Speaking on how Trey inspired him, MikexAngel said, “Before I met anybody from Trey’s camp, I was truly honestly just a fan. I admired how he got on. His story and his whole style just spoke to me when I was young. Just to see him become what he is now is like wow. It’s crazy. I just feel like it was the smartest move I ever made because what are the chances?”
Trey and MikexAngel are currently touring the nation together on Trey’s “Tremaine” tour.
