Give vegan ice cream a try and I promise it will be worth your while.
Vegan restaurants have been popping up more and more through the decade, due to the popular demand of vegans. Being vegan is an alternative way of eating. It is strictly a plant-based diet without meat or dairy. Animals are a no-go.
Here in Brooklyn there is a vegan ice cream shop chain called Van Leeuween, they also have a truck that attends different food festivals all over and very popular over the summer.
Vegan ice cream can be a bit pricier since the products used are not dairy based, but you are helping farm agriculture. They make all their ice cream fresh in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Off of their website the vegan ice creams are made with “house made cashew milk, organic coconut milk, organic extra virgin coconut oil, organic cane sugar, pure cocoa butter and organic carob bean.”
There are multiple locations including in Williamsburg, Greenpoint, East Village and even LA.
Even if you are not vegan, like myself, I really recommend checking it out, their flavors range from Green Tea to Salter Carmel. They even have regular ice cream served also just in case the vegan option is not your cup of tea.
