It’s party time
Sunday marked the end of New York Comedy Festival. We were super excited to attend Sasheer Zamata’s Party Time. The lineup for this standup show included SNL’s Sasheer Zamata alongside with Jacqueline Novak, Aparna Nancherla, and Holly Miranda. This show had a lot of variety in which standup comedy was performed along with other performances such as singing a variety of songs. The comedians on this lineup were all amazing. Some things to mention is how Sasheer has an amazing way of performing her material. She seems very upbeat and happy but uses her charisma and energy to talk about very polarizing topics such as race. Her timing was great and her jokes were fresh and very smart. Seeing her on SNL and then seeing her live just validates the fact that Sasheer is extremely talented and is a comedian with a very unique perspective.
Another standout comedian of the night was Aparna Nancherla. We have seen Aparna perform before and this show had us laughing a lot like usual. Aparna is very quirky and uses that to her advantage. Her personality could be described as nervous and in a constant state of panic which is extremely relatable. She has the range to talk about serious topics to nonsensical topics which shows how Aparna is extremely versatile. All in all, this show was a great way to close NYCF. There were a lot of laughs and comedians really put on a great show.
