Serena Williams showcased her Fall HSN Signature Statement Collection at Kia Style360 New York Fashion Week.
The Nike deemed greatest athlete ever knows how to draw crowds on and off the court. Front-row guest including Fashion heavyweights Anna Wintour, Iris Apfel, and Fern Mallis along with sister Venus Williams, tennis star Caroline Wozniacki, singers Ciara and Christina Milian, actresses La La Anthony and Naturi Naughton, and fashion social media maven Claire Sulmers. This display of support was a direct reflection of the shows’ inspiration, which was a celebration of womanhood. Its’ soundtrack included an empowering spoken-word poem with the resonating line: “she is women”.
Williams’ collection exuded “ready-to-wear”. HSN took that a step further as it lived streamed the show and allowed customers to purchase looks straight off the runway. Perfect for fall the line was sleek, stylish, smart, and cozy with a hint of sexy. The collection offered an array of lavish outerwear, like the reversible maxi faux-Shearling and a dramatic double-breasted maxi coat. Williams also gave classic mix and match separates, a variety of solid knit and ribbed knit dresses in rose pink, heather sand, claret red, charcoal, cream, and black, belted maxi vest, and cape-like maxi cardigans. There were chic faux-Sherpa & leather backpacks and suede over-the-knee boots.
The final looks dished out sultry delight with a long sleeved, short black velvet dress, accented with black feathers, and two all black lace numbers with touches of see-through.
Post show celebrity guest, family, and fans swarmed the 22 Grand Slam titleholder, ranting, and raving about how fabulous the collection was and how proud of her they all were. Even the most noted of guest waited around for their turn with her, including Mr. Tommy Hilfiger. All in all, with this collection Serena Williams definitely scored an Ace.
New York City hotspot and fashion model sanctuary Bagatelle, one of New York’s trendiest restaurants, served as official nightclub partner hosting Kia STYLE360’s intimate VIP after-party for the presentation. Ty Hunter, Robert Verdi, Kandi Burruss, Byron Lars, Kristi Castlin, Dalilah Muhammad, Mindy Grossman and Aaquil “Slim Jxmmi” Brown from Rae Sremmurd were in attendance.
