Tuesday Tunes | Tropical Beats

Happy Tuesday! This week, we’re focusing on tropical tunes with infectious beats that mentally teleport us to paradise. From Deep Chill‘s soothing single, Blinded, to Nora En Pure‘s Come With Me, this week’s edition will lessen the blow the forthcoming end of summer.

Deep Chills – Blinded

This Italian native only has 4 releases under his belt, but they are nothing short of amazing. We had the pleasure of seeing his live set at Elements Music & Arts Festival this past Saturday and, despite having to put up with the blistering heat that enveloped the festival grounds, he absolutely killed it. His sound in this track is delightfully refreshing because it blends the trademark instrumental sounds of tropical house with a melodic flute riff and velvety vocals.

Bjonr – Broken (ft. Tom Bailey)

If you’re looking for a tune that you can sing along to without having to go through the process of memorizing the lyrics, look no further. This track samples the infamous Goo Goo Dolls record, ‘Iris’, and remixes them into a short, atmospheric tropical house tune. It starts off with a progression of guitar chords that parallel the original and then explodes into a concoction of rhythmic beats, snares, and piano riffs. It’s a blast from the past with a twist.

Nora en Pure – Come With Me

If we had to describe this song with only one word it would be mesmerizing. The vocals consist of one phrase being spoken on loop and the piano riff that serves as the foundation of the song is only 3 chords that repeat over and over again. What makes this one so great is the subtle, but penetrative, build-ups scattered throughout it. It’s short enough to leave you wanting more, but long enough to lure you in and prompt you to put it on repeat. This was Nora En Pure’s first track to make it onto Beatport’s Top 100. It proved to be such a fan-favorite that it managed to stay there for 7 consecutive months! Nora has been hitting the nail on the head with everything she’s put out since ‘Come With Me’ – we can’t wait to hear what she’s going to produce next.

Soul Catalyst – Scenic Route (ft. Felish)

With only 3 releases on Spotify, Soul Catalyst is still relatively new to the tropical house scene. However, if what he’s put out so far is a testimony to what’s to come there’s no doubt on our mind that it’s only a matter of time until his stuff is everywhere. This chilled out house tune holds true to its name in that it’s perfect for a scenic drive along the West Coast. You can practically feel the wind flowing through your hair when you put it on. Even if you don’t live in the West Coast, this tune can easily take you there if you simply close your eyes and listen to it on HQ headphones.

Jonas Blue – Perfect Strangers

Last but certainly not least we’ve got a treat by none other than the rising British producer, Jonas Blue. You may have heard his popular remix of Tracy Chapman‘s classic ‘Fast Car’, which blew up in 2015. ‘Perfect Strangers’ is hands down the most dance-friendly song on this list – its beat so infectious that it’s probably been the cause of many trips to the ER since its release. The future house elements that break through in the chorus provide a great contrast to the soft marimba-like riff that loops throughout the track. It’s a radio-friendly record that exemplifies listener-friendly production. Stay tuned to check out our interview with Jonas coming soon!
