The former award-winning marketing executive will be taking an interesting next step in his career.

Co-founder of Tribeca Enterprises Jane Rosenthal has recently announced Andrew Essex as the new CEO. Essex formerly served as the Vice Chair and founding CEO of creative agency Droga5 which The Guardian called “the most exciting agency on the planet”. In his career he’s also been an award-winning journalist as well as the founding editor-in-chief of Absolute magazine, not to mention he sits on the board of several notable companies, such as The American Advertising Federation, the iHeart Media Creative Advisory Counsel, Venture For America, the Internet Advertising Bureau, and Pop Tech. In his new role, Essex will oversee partnerships, marketing, content and digital strategy, business development, and day-to-day operations. Rosenthal will continue to grow the company as well as develop their newly launched Tribeca Games, as well as exploring new ways to further expand the brand. Upon appointing Essex, Rosenthal has said “It is an extraordinary pleasure to be welcoming Andrew as we head into the 15th Tribeca Film Festival. Andrew is one of the brightest, most creative minds in the media business. His experience, wit, and vision make him uniquely suited to build on Tribeca’s accomplishments”.

Genna Terranova will continue her role as Tribeca Film Festival Director as well as continue to work with  Artistic Director Frederic Boyer, and Geoff Gilmore, who will continue as a consultant on Tribeca Film Festival. Big changes are happening at Tribeca Enterprises and time will tell what cool new things comes out of it.
