Stephen Curry is hurting changing the game of basketball.
During the rematch between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, former Warriors Head Coach Mark Jackson said, “To a degree, he’s hurting the game”.
Clearly, Mark Jackson was referring to the affects of watching Stephen Curry. The youth’s imitation of Curry’s game is the reason Jackson is apprehensive about him.
I believe Jackson’s intensions weren’t meant to disparage Curry’s game but to educate the youth. Certain kids witness Curry’s blistering shooting on a nightly basis. However, they do not realize the hard work, countless hours, repetitions, sweat, and tears behind closed doors.
Honestly, I have the utmost respect for Curry, due to his work ethic.
Curry’s amazing display thus far has proven that you don’t have to be a freakish athlete to play in the NBA. No matter what anyone says, He’s too small, struggles defensively, not a great finisher around the basket, etc.
He is the league reigning MVP and an NBA Champion. Currently averaging 30.8 points per game, two steals, six assists, and shooting high percentages from the floor. The point is Curry lives a life of toil. Everyone has to realize the level of dedication that is needed to become a great player.
